Fast-Moving Blaze Damages 12 Vehicles, Trailer At Maryland Auto Dealership: Fire Marshal

One firefighter was injured and a dozen vehicles were damaged by an overnight fire at a Maryland auto dealership.

First responders in Charles County were called shortly before 10 p.m. on Wednesday night when a neighbor reported a fire at Mega Imports Auto Sales on Old Washington Road in Waldorf.

According to the Maryland Fire Marshal, it took a team of nearly 50 firefighters an estimated 20 minutes to get the scene under control, but not before the flames damaged 12 vehicles and one trailer. The business itself was unharmed.

Officials said that on firefighter suffered non-life-threatening injuries battling the blaze, which caused an estimated $70,000 in damage.

The cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation on Thursday, May 23.
